Week 3 Learning Plans

Hi Room 3 Families!

Our week 3 learning plan is on the Google Classroom and will launch at 3:00 today, Friday April 17th.

I'm super impressed with how much work is being completed and how much work is being submitted to our classroom.  I hope you aren't finding it to be too much work or too stressful, please let me know if it is!  Thank you to those who have sent me positive and encouraging messages while we navigate this ongoing learning for the students!

We'll be having a Google Meets next Thursday April 23rd, they will be small group meetings and I'll send the code to the meeting via your child's educbe email.

I look forward to week 3's work and I hope you have some time to enjoy some puddles this week!

Have a great weekend and I miss you all!

Love,
Mrs. S :)

Kindergartens, one other thing you can continue to do is recite our poem!  (below)

January, February, March, April, May,
The first five months are A-OK!

June and July, August, September
How many summers can you remember?

October, November, December’s the end.
Any month’s a good one to make a new friend.

Fifty-two weeks or twelve months in a year,
As each month ends, a new one is here.

Winter and fall, summer and spring.
These are the seasons that each year brings.

The days in a year come to 365,
Isn’t it great to be alive!

Tuesday, November 19

Today, student pictures were sent home.
This week, Mr. O Reilly is using the school gym to record a special song for the CBC Music Challenge. Tomorrow, Kindergarten is going outside for gym class. Please ensure that your child is dressed for our winter weather.
Thank-you for your support for Kindergarten's Treat Day!
Last Tuesday, while on morning supervision I fell on some black ice.   I'm at home recovering from a concussion. Mrs. Stilborn is subbing for me.  I'm really missing my class, but I'll return to work as soon as I am able.

Thursday, November 7

In gym we are learning how to use a child size racket to serve underhand over the net. We started with fluff balls, and today we tried small balls. I'm seeing a lot of improvement and an increased awareness of where their body is in the space around them. Next week, we'll continue to work on our swing and see if we can get a fluff ball or soft ball back and forth over the net!

Today, we had a 'guest scientist' visit our classroom to talk about the science artifacts that we have at our science table. We shared our ideas about other types of science we have in the natural world around us.

Tomorrow for FAF we are going outside to look at the shades of colors in nature. Soho will be here as well. You are invited to attend our Remembrance Day Assembly  at 10:45 AM. Thank-you for your generous donations of food for our Veterans.

Halloween

Thank-you everyone for your donations of food, and volunteering for our Pumpkin Party!
Everyone should arrive at school with their costumes on. You're more than welcome to come inside the school to assist your child with their costumes. After our classroom meeting, we will be parading through the school to show everyone our costumes, and cuteness! Please remember that your child is more than welcome to wear black or orange to our party. Please do not send a snack to school. We will have party food to share, and enjoy.
